Headlining Death Attack 2 in Tallinn

We are honoured to headline Death Attack 2 festival at Rockclub Tapper in Tallinn, Estonia on May 22nd 2009!

Our first show in Tallinn was in spring 2005 and it was surely a trip to remember. The audience ruled big time and we received such a great treatment from the organizers. Needless to say we’re thrilled to go back, look very forward to this show and hope to meets lots of old friends.

The line-up looks pretty damn badass as well!

Lutakko Liekeissä festival in August

We are thrilled to announce that we will be playing Lutakko Liekeissä festival in Jyväskylä on August 22nd. We’ve always loved this festival, it’s a hometown show, our favourite venue ever and we really enjoyed playing there in 2006, so it’s going to be sweet to play there again. And just wait until the rest of the line-up will be announced!

Regarding this whole video thingy

Maybe it’s appropriate to give you some facts regarding our April Fools’ “contest” if anyone even got the joke.

Yes, Depressed Mode’s latest video Death multiplies seems pretty similar to our Oikeutus. We have discussed this matter with them and our video crew. Depressed Mode claim it’s just a coincidence and that they didn’t steal anything. We have a pretty good understanding on how things went and how everything got to this point. No one’s holding any grudges and we consider this matter closed.

Believe it or not, we just might have some real news to post soon enough… (By the way, Viikate is an amazing, amazing band!)

Want to write our next video?

Seeing we got tons of positive feedback for our previous contest, we decided to do another one! This one’s pretty simple: come up with a plot for our next music video, write a script and send it to us. You can pick any song from Teloitus for your script.

So what’s hot and what’s not? Well, you could always start with Depressed Mode’s vibe and you know we all dig scenes with plastic and strobe, roit?

The winner will be announced on May 1st 2005 and there’s no real price in this contest.

History

Sotajumala is a Finnish death metal band founded in 1998 that plays aggressive death metal. Drawing influence from both old and new generations of death metal the band has created a sound of their own. The lyrics are in their native language and the band name translates to Wargod. Over the years the band has gained loyal following through hard work, solid releases and several fierce live shows.

Debut full-length Death Metal Finland received great response from press and fans alike in 2004, marking the beginning of a new era in Finnish death metal. As a result of meticulous writing process the band unleashed their sophomore album Teloitus in 2007. With its eight crushing songs Teloitus displays Sotajumala’s progress as songwriters, as musicians and as a band - something both press and fans noticed. From start to finish Teloitus destroys everything on its path, not once letting go. This energy is also present at live shows where the band has further demonstrated their abilities to annihilate the masses.
