Sotajumala and Woodcut Records part ways

Posted on January 26th 2009. Filed under general news.

Time has come for us to part ways with Woodcut Records, our label since 2002. We’ve achieved a lot together during these years and Woodcut has released both of our albums as well as three smaller releases. There’s no big drama behind this split, we’ve simply fulfilled our obligations and chose to continue with another label (whose name shall remain a secret for a while longer).

We would like to thank Mikki from Woodcut for these years and for believing in Sotajumala so early on in our career. Without his support things would be different for us today.

Seeing we’re not supposed to play any shows, how about a competition then?

Starting of today we’ll focus on writing our next album and try our hardest not to play any shows until we hit the studio. The question is: How many shows will we play during this break? Submit your answers within the next 30 days as comments to this entry.

To tell you the truth, we haven’t quite figured out all the prizes yet (see, it’s a very, very special competition!) but we’re giving away at least one signed copy of our 2003 sold out mcd Panssarikolonna and anything else we can think of. At least three people will be getting some Sotajumala goodies, that’s for sure.

If two entries have the same answer, whoever posted first gets the prize. Only one answer per contestant. We’ll notify the winners via email.
