Update September 10th 2008: Due to a major fuck-up by the printer, all Death Metal Finland t-shirts and girlies have been pulled back. These will be back in stock in roughly two weeks. Teloitus shirts, DMF workers and hoodies are still available.

Yesterday’s Tavastia Deathfeast was a blast and after three hours of sleep last night, we’re super excited to announce more shows! At the moment we have four shows confirmed and we’re looking to add two more before the end of the year. Next year we’re trying to take a break from playing shows (yeah, right) to focus on composing new material and most likely, just like back in 2006, we’ll fail miserably and still play a bunch of shows. Escape From The Rehearsal Room tour 2009, here we come!

Oikeutus

Second video from our latest album had its world premiere last night on Finnish TV. This video is for the song Oikeutus and you can watch it on Youtube. Shooting took place back in April in Vaasa, Finland and once again we would like to thank our amazing, underpaid crew: Mikael Jänisoja, Mikko Soukkala, Aki Hahto, Matti Pekkanen, Mikko Lyyski, Ville Sahakangas, Sari Vesanto, Teemu Hauta and Toni Riihiluoma.

History

Sotajumala is a Finnish death metal band founded in 1998 that plays aggressive death metal. Drawing influence from both old and new generations of death metal the band has created a sound of their own. The lyrics are in their native language and the band name translates to Wargod. Over the years the band has gained loyal following through hard work, solid releases and several fierce live shows.

Debut full-length Death Metal Finland received great response from press and fans alike in 2004, marking the beginning of a new era in Finnish death metal. As a result of meticulous writing process the band unleashed their sophomore album Teloitus in 2007. With its eight crushing songs Teloitus displays Sotajumala’s progress as songwriters, as musicians and as a band - something both press and fans noticed. From start to finish Teloitus destroys everything on its path, not once letting go. This energy is also present at live shows where the band has further demonstrated their abilities to annihilate the masses.
