Death Metal Finland special edition

Our debut album Death Metal Finland will be re-released on February 20th as a double cd special edition. The second disc contains all the tracks from our mcd, split and single releases from over the years, including an unreleased version of Pommitus from 2003. So basically it’s everything we’ve ever recorded that isn’t on the albums.

Woodcut will be selling this version in advance at Finnish Metal Expo on February 15—16!

Jyväskylä and Kouvola shall be executed

Two new shows have been confirmed: Bar 68 in Jyväskylä on March 22nd and Rytmi-katti in Kouvola on April 18th. Both venues are nice, small places with a very warm atmosphere and great staff. We’re looking very forward to both of these shows!

Global Domination has reviewed Teloitus, go check it out!

Two new shows have been confirmed: Curium Metal Fest in Helsinki (what a line-up!) on March 15th and Lahti on March 21st. More shows will be announced in the near future. We’ve also come across some “confirmed” shows around the web. Until you see the info posted here, consider it a rumour or a show we’re still working on. Once everything is confirmed, we will post it here.

Grimm’s Journey are now on Myspace. Go ahead and see if you recognize some familiar faces. This is a band that existed long before Sotajumala and the lads have recently recorded some of their old songs that were originally written back in 1995 – 1996. Vocals on this recording were handled by the legendary Sami Kokko (Paraxism).

History

Sotajumala is a Finnish death metal band founded in 1998 that plays aggressive death metal. Drawing influence from both old and new generations of death metal the band has created a sound of their own. The lyrics are in their native language and the band name translates to Wargod. Over the years the band has gained loyal following through hard work, solid releases and several fierce live shows.

Debut full-length Death Metal Finland received great response from press and fans alike in 2004, marking the beginning of a new era in Finnish death metal. As a result of meticulous writing process the band unleashed their sophomore album Teloitus in 2007. With its eight crushing songs Teloitus displays Sotajumala’s progress as songwriters, as musicians and as a band - something both press and fans noticed. From start to finish Teloitus destroys everything on its path, not once letting go. This energy is also present at live shows where the band has further demonstrated their abilities to annihilate the masses.
