Christmas execution

We would like to thank all of our friends, supporters and partners in crime for an amazing year! We achieved a lot this year, with the help of many wonderful people, and the executions shall continue next year. It seems like we will be playing more shows during 2008 than any previous year and maybe a couple of festivals as well. Stay tuned!

New date for the show in Turku

The show in Turku has been postponed and will now take place on March 1st. The great news is that our good friends Torture Killer will be playing with us, wohoo!

Finnish metal radio show Metalliliitto has also named their favourites for the FMA poll, naming Teloitus as their favourite artwork. Nice!

Finnish Metal Awards 2007

Finnish Metal Awards is back. You can vote for best Finnish album, band, upcomer, artwork, player and singer (in that specific order, in case your Finnish is still a bit rusty). Inferno and SUE magazines already announced their votes. All you need to do is fill in your votes for us *cough* and leave your name and email to ensure you won’t vote more than once.

The poll closes on January 31st and the winners will be announced at Finnish Metal Expo.

Tonight, tonight

Tonight we’ll be playing the official Teloitus release show at our home venue, Lutakko, Jyväskylä. Expect our longest set ever! In fact, it’ll be divided into two separate sets and there will be a bunch of special guests as well, so be sure to get your ass to Lutakko for some ass-kicking death metal tonight!

The Nile dates were a blast

The four show mini-tour with Nile and Deathchain was a blast and we would like to thank everybody who came to the shows, bought merch, said hi to us, the staff at all four venues, everybody who gave us place to stay for the night, Deathchain, Tupi, Paldanius Paldanius (thanks a million!) and last but certainly not least Karl, Dallas, George and Chris from Nile and their amazing crew, Punchy and Rob. History

Sotajumala is a Finnish death metal band founded in 1998 that plays aggressive death metal. Drawing influence from both old and new generations of death metal the band has created a sound of their own. The lyrics are in their native language and the band name translates to Wargod. Over the years the band has gained loyal following through hard work, solid releases and several fierce live shows.

Debut full-length Death Metal Finland received great response from press and fans alike in 2004, marking the beginning of a new era in Finnish death metal. As a result of meticulous writing process the band unleashed their sophomore album Teloitus in 2007. With its eight crushing songs Teloitus displays Sotajumala’s progress as songwriters, as musicians and as a band - something both press and fans noticed. From start to finish Teloitus destroys everything on its path, not once letting go. This energy is also present at live shows where the band has further demonstrated their abilities to annihilate the masses.
